چکیده

Due to the swift development of mobile devices, the markets of mobile content business have grown rapidly during the recent years. This development has contributed to a fast introduction of mobile DRM technologies applied to the protection of content against illegal distribution enabled by short range messaging protocols and upcoming mobile peer-to-peer networking. Although the traditional peer-to-peer networking has strongly increased in popularity, the mobile solutions are still in an immature state. This diploma thesis studies the enabling technologies for content superdistribution in mobile peer-to-peer environment and focuses on the development of an intelligent license negotiation system for Series 60 mobile devices. The central idea behind the system is to provide a flexible and easy-to-use negotiation tool, which offers highly personalized licensing services and possibilities to race different content providers in a competitive bidding manner. The License Negotiation System is coupled with a DRM Platform, which provides good extension capabilities for an easy creation of new use rights. The implementation of the mobile client was carried out using Symbian C++ and the license server using Java SE. The implemented prototype turned out to work as designed, allowing content providers to form various service classes applied to the same content. The prototype was equipped with a negotiation logic, the purpose of which is to provide end-users with the best possible licenses matching their individual needs. Even a simple negotiation logic proved to offer competent results if the license database was large enough.

Community-centric mobile peer-to-peer services: performance evaluation and user studies

The popularity of social networking services emphasises the importance of user communities. As the next evolutionary step, social networking will evolve towards user communities that are dynamically established according to contextual aspects such as the shared location and/or activities of people. In this vision, distributed peer-to-peer (P2P) technologies provide a respectable alternative to ...

Trustworthy Agent-Based Recommender System in a Mobile P2P Environment

Current major P2P systems focus on PCs and do not provide services for the mobile environment. Compared to traditional P2P, characteristics of Mobile P2P include unreliable connections, limited bandwidth and constraints of mobile devices. In addition, nomadic users demand applications and services that are context-aware, personalised, secure, and trustworthy. Recommender systems are one of thes...

Fuzzy Inference-based Super Peer Selection for a Practical Double-layered Mobile Peer-to-peer System

Mobile ad hoc networks have received increasing attention as mobile technology advances and more applications are developed. Mobile peerto-peer (P2P) systems are becoming useful in mobile network applications where installation of infrastructure may be difficult or even infeasible. To realize a mobile P2P system, the double-layered mobile P2P systems that consider both the mobility and energy s...

Case Study on a Community-Centric Mobile Service Environment

This paper discusses and evaluates the design and the implementation of a Community-centric Mobile Service Environment (COMSE), where all services are developed with Web technologies. The service environment is built on a distributed communication platform that is implemented using a DHT-based peer-to-peer (P2P) protocol. The interaction between P2P overlay networks and Web-based services is re...
